Safety On Identity theft

Students learn about the methods criminals use to steal identities online. They develop an identity theft prevention tip list and propose ways to communicate their tips to their families. This is a very useful safety tip especially when dealing with young adults in highschool. Reason being at this age thy will be more solicitable to things such as credit cards, good deals they may see on the web which is asking for their personal information etc. It also hits on the topic of how to prevent identify theft discussing things like

Objectives

• Define online identity theft and describe several ways it can occur.
• Research online identity theft and create a tip list for preventing it.
• Communicate good online identity theft prevention practices to family members

 I believe this is good because we know even as adults when some things are just too good to be true we jsut use our common sense. The youth who are still grwoing and maturing and is also trying to establish independence might just think its just a great deal or situation reguardless of what we say and apply for whatever it is anyway. So the information they are givivng us on this site as well as other sites and things we can do to prevent this from happening or if its too late and it does happen we are equipped to handle it appropiately and affectively.

Safety: On Making Good Decisions While Using The Internet

This lesson plan basically tells a student about the do's and dont's about things to do while on the internet that can put you at risk of cyber sexual interaction. This topic is suitable for highschoo aged kids as it discuss in some detail sexual conduct between youth and adult. I believe that this is a very helpful safety tool mainly because some students as well as adults dont know how to properly avoid this scary but realistic situation

It just goes through typical mistakes kids make while on the internet and the things they should do if someone starts a convo with you that you dont know or aks to send you a picture etc. It then goes into detail about different programs and people you can talk to immediately when and if you run into this problema nd also the statistics of people who have been kidnapped, raped, and killed due to not taking the proper steps. I believe these safety tips is very useful for me as a educator because i will be enetring youh lifes at the time where puberty, admmiration and youth being heavily effective by technology.

Empowered Learners

Todays topic on empowered learners was very interesting to me mainly because all of these concepts was new to me. I never really looked that deep into teaching under those concepts, however i am a huge believer that learning is fun and i cant wait to add these new concepts to my style of teaching.

Enduring Concept 1 AND 2

Enduring Concept # 1:

Knowing History is important

·         #2: Matters because knowing your history helps you understand the present

·         #3 : Everyone is a part of the evolution of history. EX.) All ethnicity and races.

·         # 4: Connections between history and shaping the future of the world in which we live.

·         #6: Students do a study on what their race accomplished positively to shape the world we live in today

Enduring Concept #2:

Historians use research

#2: Research is important to get answers.

#3: If we didn’t do research there would be no facts to the history, everything would be someones own perception.

#4: If history wasn’t back by research or continuing research nothing in American history today  would have any signifigance.

#6: Students identify a signifigant event in history of their own interest and extend research beyond the textbook (ie) own method of research outside sources .
